Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in both film, television and theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, the flamboyant lawyer on her role on the Showtime show Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name following her marriage. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from when she was a child and won the Best Actress award at a Maryland high-school competition. Contractor was offered the opportunity to join Stratford's conservatory, where a select eight men and four females are selected to take a crash course of 20 weeks in classical theatre, which she was eager to take.
